Your adventure begins in Kigali with a morning departure toward Rwanda's spectacular northern highlands. Drive through Rwanda's beautiful countryside, with opportunities to experience local villages, agricultural landscapes and views of the Virunga volcanic chain. Arrive in the Musanze/Kinigi area and check into your lodge.
Overnight: Volcanoes National ParkRise early for one of Rwanda's most exciting primate experiences: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park. After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before entering the bamboo and montane forests in search of the endangered golden monkeys. The trek provides an opportunity to observe these beautiful and highly active primates in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and prepare for your cross-border journey. Continue south toward the Cyanika border, complete immigration formalities and enter Uganda. Drive through the spectacular highlands toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive at your lodge and relax ahead of tomorrow's gorilla trek.
Overnight: Mgahinga / Bwindi National ParkAfter an early breakfast, proceed to the designated Bwindi gorilla trekking briefing point. Following a safety briefing, enter the ancient rainforest accompanied by experienced trackers and park guides. The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch thereafter drive back to Rwanda.
Volcanoes National ParkEnjoy breakfast before driving through Rwanda’s northern province highlands toward Kigali , on arrival proceed to the airport to catch flight.
Pickup from Kigali and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Cyanika border. The drive offers spectacular views of the terraced hillsides and the majestic Virunga volcanoes.
Overnight: Bwindi National ParkAfter a morning briefing, head into the rainforest with expert rangers. Once the gorillas are located, spend an hour observing their social interactions. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the lodge or a walk through the local community.
Overnight: Bwindi National ParkAfter breakfast re-enter the park for a second trek, often in a different sector or with a different gorilla family. This second encounter allows for more relaxed observation and a chance to appreciate the different terrains of the park.
Overnight: Bwindi National ParkAfter breakfast, depart for the Rwanda border. Enjoy a scenic final drive to Kigali for your flight departure or hotel drop-off.
